China on Friday issued its first regulation on human organ transplants, banning organizations and individuals from trading human organs in any form.The regulation, issued by the State Council, or China's cabinet, will go into effect on May 1.The regulation does not apply to transplants of human tissue, such as cells, cornea and marrow.Human organ transplants are defined as the process of taking a human organ or part of a human organ - such as the heart, lung, liver, kidney and pancreas - from a donor and transplanting it into a patient's body to replace his or her sick or damaged organ.The regulation stipulates that human organ transplants should respect the principle of being voluntary and free donation.The regulation comprises 32 articles in five chapters, including human organ donations, human organ transplants, legal responsibilities and supplementary points. It covers transplant quality and aims to safeguard citizen's lawful rights.

China will gradually sell its planned 1.55 trillion yuan (3.6 billion) in special domestic bonds to finance its overseas investment agency, a senior central bank official was quoted on Monday as saying. The country's stock market has been hit by the bond issue plan, approved by China's parliament on Friday, as investors feared such a move would suck funds from the market. "The plan will be carried out gradually according to its monetary policy," Yi Gang, assistant governor of the People's Bank of China, told the Shanghai Securities News. Beijing - China is turning the site of a prison camp run by Japanese forces during World War Two into a war museum, the Xinhua news agency said on Sunday. More than 2,000 prisoners from the United States, Britain, the Netherlands and Australia were imprisoned at the camp in Shenyang, a Manchurian city formerly known as Mukden, between November 1942 and August 1945. More than one in 10 of them died, Xinhua said. Many Chinese believe Japan has yet to apologize properly for its invasion and occupation of China in the years leading up to and during the war.
